Pulp noir sci-fi novels written and designed by A.I.

To keep customers in the brewery and more engaged, our idea was to write and design a series of sci-fi-themed pulp noir novels with the help of various A.I. tools. The insight here was to lean into and leverage the brand at its core – the science fiction elements, the space-inspired sake names, the thoughtful campiness of the genre – and expand it with unexpected, entertaining activation.

When the only craft sake brewery in New England is owned and operated by a bona fide sci-fi nerd, good things are bound to happen.

But it couldn’t just be a simple genre parody, everything had to be centered around sake in some way. Sake inspired every story. Sake was at the center of every conflict or story arc. Sake was the motivation for protagonists and antagonists alike. Because while the theme of Farthest Star’s brand is science fiction, the real hero of their story is the amazing sake. One part story core, one part MacGuffin, a billion parts sake.

posters + sci-fi = delicious

Our first project for the Farthest Star Brewery was a series of award-winning, hand-illustrated posters than leaned into the sci-fi soul of the brand. Eat your heart out, Ray Bradbury.
